  • 1 kg 2.2 lb potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 80 g ⅓ cup butter, melted
  • 150 ml ⅔ cup warm milk
  • 4 garlic cloves roasted or minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh chives for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Step 1 – Prep the Potatoes: Peel and cube the potatoes into even pieces to ensure they cook uniformly.

  2. Step 2 – Boil Until Tender: Place the potatoes in a large pot, cover with cold water, salt generously, and boil for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender.

  3. Step 3 – Drain & Dry: Drain the potatoes well and return them to the hot pot for 1 minute to evaporate excess moisture.
  4. Step 4 – Mash the Potatoes: Mash using a potato masher or mixer until smooth but still fluffy.
  5. Step 5 – Add Garlic & Butter: Stir in melted butter, warm milk, and roasted or minced garlic. Mix until creamy.

  6. Step 6 – Serve: Season with salt and pepper, top with extra butter and chives if desired, and serve warm.
